A fellow researcher sent me the following photographs on Saturday of Kenneth Steel's painting of Sheffield Castle
I am a great admirer of Kenneth's work but I don't think that this is one of his best. Why? It is due to the aerial perspective and more importantly it seems rather trite and idealised. Just not for me I'm afraid
