I was thinking of posting an article on Ivy's tremendous feat of swimming the English Chaneel in October 1927 but found that the event was amply covered on the Channel Swimming website that celebrates and records this feat. The above photograph was taken at Millhouses Park Open-Air Swimming Pool in 1929
